Comprehensive Psychological & Educational Evaluations
Connecting the pieces to understand the whole person.
Psychological and educational evaluations offer a meaningful opportunity to explore how you think, learn, and experience the world. Through this process, you can gain a deeper understanding of your thoughts, emotions, behaviors, and patterns — uncovering the pieces that shape your strengths and challenges. At The Mind Opened Psychological Evaluations, we believe that insight leads to growth. Our comprehensive assessments help individuals and families build greater self-awareness, strengthen confidence, and foster personal development. This knowledge empowers you to make informed decisions, improve overall well-being, and move toward a more complete and authentic version of yourself.
Founded by Dr. Kristi DiGioia, a licensed clinical psychologist and former educator, The Mind Opened bridges the gap between education and psychology. Dr. DiGioia’s approach combines clinical expertise with a deep understanding of how people learn, process information, and relate to others. Every evaluation is tailored to the individual — whether for a child navigating school challenges, an adolescent seeking clarity, or an adult pursuing personal insight. Our goal is to provide not only accurate results but also compassionate guidance that helps each client move forward with clarity and confidence.

If you have any specific questions not addressed, please don’t hesitate to reach out to us. We’re here to help, whether you’re looking for details about our evaluations or need guidance on the process.
We provide three primary types of evaluations:
- Psychoeducational Evaluations — to understand how an individual learns, processes information, and performs academically.
- Psychological Evaluations — to explore emotional, behavioral, and cognitive functioning, offering insight for treatment planning and personal growth.
- Legal Guardianship Evaluations — to assess an individual’s decision-making capacity and provide courts and families with objective, professional recommendations.
Each evaluation is customized to the individual’s needs and conducted with care, clarity, and respect.
We provide evaluations for children, adolescents, and adults.
The duration varies depending on the type of assessment and individual needs. Typically it takes about 2-3 hours to complete. We prioritize quality and ensure thorough assessments.

There’s no need to study or prepare. The best thing you can do is ensure you or your child are well-rested, fed, and comfortable.
If the evaluation is for a child, it can help to explain that they’ll be doing different activities and puzzles—not tests with “right” or “wrong” answers.
Yes, we encourage parents to be involved during the evaluation for children and adolescents. Your presence can provide valuable insights and support during the process.
